Seismic Interpretation
Hunter 3-D was created to provide 3-D seismic interpretation services and since our inception we have been involved in prospect generation and field development based on 3-D seismic and gravity data. In recent years we have begun to emphasize some of the "high tech" uses of 3-D data including seismic inversion, AVO and attribute studies. Our potential field studies now integrate magnetic data and full tensor gravity gradiometry. We use several work station interpretation systems including: Landmark, SMT's Kingdom, Geoquest's IESX running under Geoframe, the Hampson Russel Software suite, ISATIS, GMSYS and others.

AVO and Seismic Inversion
We look at AVO and inversion from a data processing and an interpretation perspective. Dan Huston processed AVO data for several years at UNOCAL as a processing geophysicist and later as the team leader for UNOCAL's Advanced Seismic Methods group at the Brea California based Fred Hartley Research Center. He won UNOCAL's first annual Creativity Award in 1989 for his work in AVO analysis leading to the discovery of the Merrill Avenue Gas Field in California's San Joaquin Valley. He has written papers on AVO and Seismic Inversion for Geophysics and other publications and he has put his ideas into practice over many years of successful oil and gas prospecting

We use Hampson Russell's excellent 3-D Inversion and AVO Analysis packages.

At our office we have Kingdom software, Hampson Russell's AVO suite, and gravity software running on Windows 2000 machines as well as on Unix work stations.

Gravity and Potential Fields
We run NGA's GMSYS gravity analysis package for 2-D Modeling and simple 3-D analysis.

and Holly Huston also uses the excellent suite of Fugro-LCT software for both gravity and magnetic analysis in full 3-D.

Exciting new capabilities for interpretation are now possible with the gravity gradient data available from Bell Geospace

Geostatistics
We use geostatistical methods to combine well data with seismic and potential fields data to provide an integrated geophysical solution. The toolbox of techniques commonly called "geostatistics" allows the integration of "hard" well log or sample data with "soft" seismic attributes or other remote sensing data. The result honors the well data exactly (unlike many other methods) and provides a solution that is considered to be optimal in a statistical sense. The bottom line is that we can integrate all of our client's data in a rational quantitative way. Geostatistical software in our office includes ISMAP from Hampson Russell and Antero from Veritas.
